ACC2000: Empty Picture Frame Pasting Image into Data Access Page (223200)

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).

SYMPTOMS

When you paste an image into a data access page, the picture's border appears within Design view of the page, but the picture itself does not appear. You do not see the picture or the picture's border when you view the page in Page view or within Microsoft Internet Explorer.

RESOLUTION

Insert the picture from the Insert Picture dialog box instead of pasting a copy of the picture. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Open the page in Design view.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Picture.
  3. In the Insert Picture dialog box, select the folder that contains the image. Select the picture, and then click OK.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Start Microsoft Word.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
  3. In the Insert Picture dialog box, browse to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Bitmaps\Styles\Stone.bmp file, and click Insert.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
  5. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
  6. Start Microsoft Access.
  7. Open the Northwind.mdb or the NorthwindCS.adp database.
  8. In the Database window, click Pages under Objects, and then click New.
  9. Click Design View, and then click OK.
  10. Once in Design view of the page, on the Edit menu, click Paste.

    Note that the picture's border appears in the page, but the picture itself does not appear.
  11. On the View menu, click Page View. Note that the page is blank.
