Cordless Phone System Error Message: Msphone Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Kernel32.dll (223167)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Microsoft Call Manager, you may receive the following error message:
Msphone caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you have installed Willow Pond's WillowTALK software on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove WillowTALK, and then rename the Wtlkttse.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. In the list of installed programs, click WillowTALK.
  4. Click Add/Remove, and then follow the instructions on the screen to remove WillowTALK.
  5. Close the Add/Remove Programs dialog box, and then close Control Panel.
  6. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
  7. In the Named box, type wtlkttse.dll, and then click Find Now.
  8. In the list of found files, right-click the Wtlkttse.dll file, and then click Rename.
  9. Type wtlkttse.old, and then press ENTER.
  10. Close the Find: Files Named Wtlkttse.dll dialog box.
  11. Restart the computer.
