OL98: Recurring Meeting Items with Custom Form Opens Incorrectly (222941)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 98
  • Microsoft Outlook 97

This article was previously published under Q222941

SYMPTOMS

When you create a custom form for appointment items by using the following steps, and then open the item, the standard form opens instead of the custom form that you created:
  1. Publish the custom form that you created.
  2. Use that form to create a recurring meeting, and then save the meeting.
  3. Open a single occurrence of the meeting, modify some fields, and then save your changes.

CAUSE

When you modify and then save a single occurrence of an appointment item, Outlook saves it as an exception item with standard form properties but does not verify that there are custom form properties. Therefore, when you open the item, Outlook uses the standard form.
