OL2000: Messages to RTF Addresses Sent in HTML (222934)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q222934 SYMPTOMS
You set Microsoft Outlook Rich Text as your default e-mail format. You then send an e-mail message to two SMTP address recipients, one whose e-mail address property is set to "Always send to this recipient in Microsoft Outlook rich-text format" and one that does not have this option checked. When the messages arrive they are both formatted as HTML.
CAUSE
You sent the message from within another Office application, such as Word, by pointing to "Send To" on the File menu, and then clicking "Mail Recipient." Or you clicked the "E-mail" button from within an Office application to send the message.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
Using "Send To" from within an Office application over rides Outlook's default mail format of "Microsoft Outlook Rich Text" and instead uses HTML.
