Err Msg: Internal Error in Windows Internet Extensions (222909)

When you browse the Internet over a dial-up connection, you may receive
the following error message:
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://Web site name. An internal error occurred in the Windows Internet Extensions.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you reinstall Windows 98 with IBM Personal Communications version 4.2 installed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue:
- Uninstall IBM Personal Communications. For information about how to uninstall IBM Personal Communications, please refer to the documentation included with the program, or contact IBM.
- After you have successfully removed IBM Personal Communications, try to establish a dial-up connection. For example, try to connect to an Internet site. If you can establish a dial-up connection to an Internet site, continue with step 3. If you cannot establish a dial-up connection to the Internet, remove and reinstall Dial-Up Networking (DUN) and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
