OL2000: (CW) "Do not deliver until" Setting Ignored with Internet E-mail (222879)

NOTE: The procedures in this article only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. If you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation, you see "Corporate or Workgroup".

SYMPTOMS

If you use Outlook Corporate or Workgroup (CW) with the Internet E-mail service, the "Do not deliver until" option does not work.

RESOLUTION

Either use Outlook configured for Internet Mail Only (IMO), or use a different Outlook (CW) e-mail delivery service.

NOTE: Mail sent to a recipient via the Internet using the Microsoft Exchange Server Internet Mail Service configuration can be set for delayed delivery.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem only occurs when using Outlook (CW) to send mail using an Internet e-mail service. The problem does not occur when using Exchange Server, or using Outlook (IMO) with a POP3 server.
