PPT2000: Macro Recorder Does Not Record Closing Slide Miniature (222803)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2000

This article was previously published under Q222803

SYMPTOMS

If you record a macro to close the Slide Miniature by clicking the Miniature's Close Window button (the X in the upper-right corner of the window), the action is not recorded and the macro fails.

RESOLUTION

You can record a macro that closes the Slide Miniature. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the View menu, click Slide Miniature. This displays the Slide Miniature.
  2. On the Tools Menu, point to Macro, and then click Record New Macro.
  3. In the Macro name box, type a name for the macro (Close_Miniature, for example).

NOTE: The first character of the name must be a letter. Other characters can be letters, numbers, or the underscore character. Because spaces are not allowed in a macro, an underscore works well as a word separator.
  4. To change the description of the macro, edit the information in the Description box, and then click OK.
  5. Click on Slide Miniature on the View menu to close the miniature.
  6. To stop recording your macro, click Stop Recording on the Stop Recording Toolbar.
