NOTE: Under certain circumstances, your browser may stop responding while detecting proxy settings. To disable this feature in Internet Explorer 5.0, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Connections tab, then click LAN Settings.
  3. Click to clear the Automatically detect Settings and Use Automatic Configuration Script options.
  4. Manually configure your proxy settings in the Proxy Server portion of this window.
