PPT2000: Typing Is Slow When Recording a Macro (222746)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
This article was previously published under Q222746 SYMPTOMS
The characters take a long time to appear on-screen while you are typing in
Microsoft PowerPoint.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if you type while you are recording a macro.
When you record a macro, PowerPoint generates Visual Basic for Applications
commands for each keystroke you make. This overhead causes a delay, and your keystrokes are not sent to the display at a normal speed.
RESOLUTION
To restore normal typing speed, stop recording the macro. To do this, point
to Macros on the Tools menu, and click Stop Recording.
