If you use the Import and Export Wizard to export Outlook items such as e-mail messages or contacts, to a Microsoft Excel file, the body of large e-mail messages or contact notes are truncated. This happens when the field contains over 255 characters.

- On the File menu, click Import and Export.
- Under Choose an action to perform, click Export to a file, and then click Next.
- Under Create a file of type, click Microsoft Access, and then click Next. If you are prompted to install the Import/Export engine, click Yes.
- Under Select folder to export from, click to select your Inbox, and then click Next.
- Under Save exported file as, type the path and Access file name to which you want to export, and then click Next.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
