SYMPTOMS

If you select a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) format message in your Inbox and print the message before you open it, the printer dialog box is displayed, but the message may not print. This behavior may be very erratic.

RESOLUTION

For consistent printing of HTML-format messages, open the message and print it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

A HTML-format message may print successfully before you open it on the first attempt and not print on subsequent attempts, or the message may not print on the first attempt and print on subsequent attempts.

To open the HTML-format message and print from within the message:
  1. Double-click the message to open it.
  2. On the File menu, click Print, and then click OK.
