SYMPTOMS

When you import Outlook items previously exported in Comma Separated Values (DOS) format, certain characters may be lost.

CAUSE

The DOS code page does not offer complete support for the extended character set.

RESOLUTION

Use the Comma Separated Values (Windows) file format, when exporting Outlook items.

MORE INFORMATION

The extended character set contains characters that are used in special situations, including accented, and emphasized characters in some foreign languages.
