OL2000: Encryption Icon Missing When Viewing Secure Web Site with Web Views (222210)

When you connect to a secure Web site using the Web Views feature, you may not see the small, Lock icon in the Status bar which indicates that you are using encrypted communications with the secure site.
RESOLUTION
To assure that encryption is being used to communicate with a secure Web site, use a browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, outside of Outlook.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
