Error Messages Uninstalling NetMeeting in Windows NT 4.0 (222152)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to uninstall NetMeeting, you may receive any of the following error messages:
  • Error unregistering the OCX drive:\%SystemRoot%\System32\xmsconf.ocx.
    Inf Install failure. Reason: Access denied.
    Error creating process drive:\%SystemRoot%\System32\nmpgmgrp.exe /d /c /n:"Microsoft NetMeeting". Reason: The system cannot find the file specified.
    Error creating process drive:\%SystemRoot%\System32\nmndd.dll. Reason: The system cannot find the file specified.

CAUSE

The first error message occurs if you attempt to uninstall NetMeeting and you are logged on as a user who does not have local administrative rights.

The other error messages can occur if a user without local administrative rights tried to uninstall NetMeeting and you are now trying to uninstall NetMeeting while logged on as a user with local administrative rights.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, log on as a user with local administrator rights and reinstall NetMeeting. You can then successfully uninstall NetMeeting if you are logged on as a user with local administrative rights.
