SYMPTOMS

When you use the Add/Remove Program tool to remove Windows Media Player 6.1 and you click No when you are prompted with the question Are you sure you wish to uninstall the Microsoft Windows Media Player, you may receive the following message:
Microsoft Windows Media Player uninstall is now complete.

MORE INFORMATION

The message listed in this article is not correct. Windows Media Player is not removed from the Add/Remove Programs tool or the computer.

This behavior does not occur in later versions of Windows Media Player.
