Unable to Use Web Archive Page with Active Desktop (221877)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to configure your Active Desktop to display a local Web Archive file (.mht), you may receive the following error message:

Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because Web Archive functionality is not compatible with Active Desktop.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, save your local Web Archive file as "Web Page, Complete (*.htm, *.html)", and then configure your Active Desktop to display this file.
