Shared Printers Not Available After Upgrading to Windows 2000 Professional (221199)

When you upgrade a computer from Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 to Windows 2000 Professional, shared printers on the computer may not be accessible.
CAUSE
Windows 2000 Professional does not keep some security settings. A shared printer remains shared, but the assigned users are deleted.
RESOLUTION
Reassign the users after the upgrade.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
