WD2000: Euro Symbol Not Printing with Hewlett-Packard 5Si PostScript Printer Driver (220500)

SYMPTOMS

When you print a document that contains the euro (European Union) currency symbol, the currency symbol may fail to print with the Hewlett-Packard 5Si PostScript printer driver.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the Hewlett-Packard Printer Control Language (PCL) driver for the LaserJet 5Si or the Hewlett-Packard 5si/5si MX PostScript driver that ships with Windows.

NOTE: You need your Windows 95/98 CD-ROM to complete this procedure.

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Printers.
  2. Double-click Add Printer and follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard.
  3. Select the HP LaserJet 5Si or HP LaserJet 5si/5si MX PS from the list of HP printers.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
