WD2000: Grammar Errors Remain with "Do not check spelling or grammar" (220484)

SYMPTOMS

When you select text marked as a grammatical error and then you turn off the spelling and grammar checking option for the selection (on the Tools menu, point to Language, click Set Language, and then select the Do not check spelling or grammar check box), the selected text remains marked as a grammatical error.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design. You must select the entire sentence to skip grammar checking within a sentence.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use the following steps:
  1. Select the entire sentence containing the grammatical error.
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Language, and then click Set Language.
  3. Click to select Do not check spelling or grammar.
