WD2000: Frame Border Color Does Not Appear in Internet Explorer (220408)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q220408 SYMPTOMS
When you save as a Web page a Microsoft Word document that contains frame borders less than 4 points in width, the frame border color does not appear in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
CAUSE
Word represents the borders in points, by default. Word sets the framespacing property to zero for anything less than 4 points. For example: FRAMESPACING = 0. Internet Explorer cannot use the border color when the FRAMESPACING is equal to 0.
NOTE: Netscape Navigator displays the border color correctly.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior so that the frame border color appears in Internet Explorer, change the frame border property so that the width equals 4 points or greater. To do this, follow these steps:
- In Word, open the document containing the frame border you want to resize.
- Right-click a frame border, and then click Frame Properties.
- On the Borders tab, in the Width of border box, type or select 4 pt (or greater).
- Click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
