WD2000: Undo/Redo May Cause Invalid Page Fault in Document Containing Text Box (220291)

SYMPTOMS

After you insert a text box, an inline picture, and a drawing object and then click Undo to remove these items, when you click Redo, the following error message may appear:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
When you click Details, the following error message appears:
WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module MSO9.DLL at 015f:<address>.
NOTE: This problem does not occur when there is not a text box in your Word document.

WORKAROUND

Make sure that no objects are selected before you insert the drawing object. For example, after you insert the picture, make sure the picture is not selected before you insert the drawing object.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
