WD2000: Picture Moves When You Save Document As HTML File (220235)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2000

This article was previously published under Q220235

SYMPTOMS

When you create a document in Microsoft Word 2000 that contains floating graphics, the formatting may be altered when you save the document as an HTML file.

This behavior occurs when the inserted graphic is anchored before a non-continuous section break and near the bottom of a page. In the saved HTML file, the graphic is moved to the beginning of the next page.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, anchor the picture to the last paragraph on the page before the non-continuous section break. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the View tab, click All in the Formatting marks area.
  3. Click OK to apply changes.
  4. Click the inserted graphic that is anchored before the non-continuous section break and near the bottom of the page.

Notice that the anchor is placed on the non-continuous section break.
  5. Drag and drop the anchor at the last paragraph mark before the non-continuous section break.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
