WD2000: Macros Appear to be Missing with Frames Page Document (220190)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2000

This article was previously published under Q220190

SYMPTOMS

When you create a document using frames pages (on the Format menu, click Frames) and then you create and store a macro in that document, if you create a new frame for the document, the macro appears to be missing when you view your list of macros (on the Tools menu, point to Macro and click Macros).

CAUSE

This behavior is by design. Because each frame in a frames page is its own document, a macro stored in one frame (document) does not appear when your insertion point is located in another frame (document).

RESOLUTION

To view the macro stored in a frame document, click in that frame, and then on the Tools menu, point to Macro and click Macros.
