FP2000: Absolutely Positioned Text Is Not WYSIWYG When DHTML Effect Is Applied (220027)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q220027

SYMPTOMS

When you apply a fly-out DHTML effect to text that is absolutely positioned on the page, your text is no longer absolutely positioned in normal view of FrontPage. However, the text appears with the DHTML effect and positioning in your Web browser.

CAUSE

When you apply the fly-out DHTML effect to text that is absolutely positioned, FrontPage changes the absolute positioning to relative positioning. Relative positioning is not WYSIWYG in FrontPage.

RESOLUTION

To have the text placed in its absolute position in normal view, reapply the absolute positioning. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Select the absolutely positioned text.
  2. On the Format menu, click Position.
  3. Click to select Absolute, and click OK.
The text is moved back to the location where you placed it.
