FP2000: Deleting Selection in Table Removes Cells from Table (219992)

After you delete a selection in a table, the number of cells remaining in the row may be different from what you expect.
For example, if you delete a selection containing the first two cells in the first row of a three-column, three-row table, you may have a single cell remaining in the row after you delete the selection.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you delete a selection containing at least one character outside of the table, plus one or more cells in the table. For example, assume that your document contains the following text and table:
Table 1
____________________________

----------------------------
| | | |
----------------------------
| | | |
----------------------------
If you select the "1" after the word "Table" in addition to the first cell of the first row, and you then press DELETE, the "1" and the first cell will be deleted and the first row of your table will contain only two cells. Therefore, after deleting the selection, your table may look similar to this:
Table
___________________
| | |
----------------------------
| | | |
----------------------------
| | | |
----------------------------
Note that a single character outside the table can be the paragraph return, which is visible when you have the Show All button pressed in on the Standard toolbar.
RESOLUTION
If you want to retain the cells that you deleted, click the Undo button on the Standard toolbar.
To delete only the contents of a cell, make sure that you select only the cell.
To select a single cell, do the following:
- Place the mouse pointer in the cell that you want to select.
- On the Table menu, point to Select, and then click Cell.
