  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q219922

SYMPTOMS

When you apply absolute positioning to a horizontal line, you do not receive move handles that allow you to move the horizontal line.

RESOLUTION

To move the horizontal line into its absolute position, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

Position the horizontal line using X and Y coordinates in the Left and Top boxes in the Position dialog box. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Select the absolutely positioned line.
  2. On the Format menu, click Position.
  3. Type a numerical value for the position on the X-axis in the Left box.
  4. Type a numerical value for the position on the Y-axis in the Top box.NOTE: The numerical value may be set in pixels or a percentage. To set the X coordinate to 640 pixels from left of the screen to right, type 640 px in the Left box. To set the Y coordinate to 50 percent of the page from top to bottom, type 50% in the Top box.

IMPORTANT: Note that specifying pixels is resolution dependent. The results of positioning may vary, depending upon your screen resolution. If this is a problem, try using a percentage.

Method 2

Add a text selection to the selected horizontal line, and then apply absolute positioning. Then you can move the horizontal line with the move handles.

STATUS
