The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q219883

SYMPTOMS

FrontPage creates .class files when you insert a banner ad or hover button component on a page. If you delete these files, a gray box appears when you view the component in your Web browser.

NOTE: The component may work correctly when you have the web open in FrontPage. However, when you close the web, the component no longer works correctly.

CAUSE

If you delete the .class files, FrontPage does not re-create the files unless you resave the page.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, open the page in Page view, and resave it. FrontPage re-creates the .class files.
