SYMPTOMS

When you create a new web on a computer that has any of the following operating systems newly installed
  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2000
  • Microsoft Windows 95 (with user profiles enabled)
  • Microsoft Windows 98 (with user profiles enabled)
the Specify the location of the new web box contains a location similar to the following:

C:\winnt\profiles\login name

If Microsoft Office 2000 is installed, the location may look similar to the following:

C:\Documents and Settings\login name\My Documents\My Webs

CAUSE

The location shown is the default location for your personal documents on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows 95/98 (when user profiles are enabled).

FrontPage determines the location for the Specify the location of the new web box in the following order:
  1. If a registry setting for the most recently created web is set, FrontPage uses the location of this web.
  2. If a registry setting for localhost is found, then FrontPage uses http://localhost.
  3. Otherwise, FrontPage uses the directory location determined by user profiles.
