FP2000: Pages Created in Navigation View Do Not Use Normal Template (219822)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q219822

SYMPTOMS

When you create a new page in Navigation view and then open that page in Page view, Page view does not show any changes that you have made to the Normal page template.

CAUSE

When you create a new page in Navigation view, the page is created on the Web server through the server extensions, and page creation is deferred until you switch to Page view. FrontPage does not have a mechanism to upload the Normal template when you create a new page on the server.

RESOLUTION

To create a new page with the Normal template, switch to Page view or Folders view. Then, you must switch to Navigation view to add the page to the navigation structure.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
