SYMPTOMS

Dynamic HTML effects that use the following events are not viewable in Netscape Navigator versions 4.5 and earlier for Windows and Macintosh:
  • Mouse Over
  • On Click
  • On Double Click

MORE INFORMATION

In FrontPage, you can create your web, based on browser compatibility. If you enable commands that are supported only by Netscape Navigator, you will not be able to make selections on the DHTML Effects toolbar, even though the Dynamic HTML Effects command is available on the Format menu.

For more information about compatibility, click Microsoft FrontPage Help on the Help menu, type compatibility in the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topic.

You can create DHTML effects that use the Page Load event or use Page Transitions for your document that are supported by Netscape Navigator.

NOTE: In order to use other DHTML effects for use in other browsers, such as Internet Explorer, click Internet Explorer Only in the Browser list (on the Tools menu, point to Page Options, and then click the Compatibility tab in the Page Options dialog box).

To apply a Dynamic HTML effect that uses the Page Load event, follow these steps:
  1. Select the text that you want to apply the Dynamic HTML effect to.
  2. On the Format menu, click Dynamic HTML Effects.
  3. On the DHTML Effects toolbar, click Page Load in the On list.
  4. Click the effect that you want in the Apply list.
  5. Click the setting that you want in the Effect box.
  6. On the File menu, click Save.
