FP2000: Saving Changes to an Image After Using Undo Edit Picture Does Not Work (219100)

SYMPTOMS

If you save an image after you use the Undo Edit Picture command, FrontPage does not save the changes.

For Example:

The following steps demonstrate a the problem of editing and saving an image, and then using the undo command:
  1. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Page.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
  3. Select an image, and then click Bevel on the Pictures toolbar.
  4. On the toolbar, click Save.
  5. In the Save Embedded Files dialog box, click OK.
  6. On the Edit menu, click Undo Edit Picture.
  7. On the toolbar, click Save.
  8. Click Refresh (press F5).

CAUSE

FrontPage does not recognize that the image has been changed after you use the Undo Edit Picture command.

RESOLUTION

Use an Image Editor to return the image to its original state, and reinsert into the web page.

MORE INFORMATION

To avoid the need to edit your image in an image editor, rename your image after you have changed it. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Select the image you want, and apply the changes.
  2. On the toolbar, click Save.
  3. In the Save Embedded Files dialog box, click Rename, and give the image a unique name.
