FP2000: DHTML Effects Can Only be Applied to Paragraphs (219096)

SYMPTOMS

When you apply a Dynamic HTML Effect to a word in a paragraph, the effect is applied to the entire paragraph.

RESOLUTION

To apply a Dynamic HTML Effect to a single word in a paragraph, do the following:

  1. Place your cursor in front of the word you want to apply the DHTML effect to and press the Return key on the keyboard.
  2. Place your cursor after of the word you want to apply the DHTML effect to and press the Return key on the keyboard. Note: This will place the word on its own line.

  3. Select the word.
  4. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Positioning.
  5. On the Positioning toolbar, click Position Absolutely, and then position the word where you want it to appear in your paragraph. Note: You may need to use the positioning tool to position the rest of your paragraph properly.

  6. Click Close in the upper-right corner of the toolbar.
  7. Select the word that you want to apply the effect to.
  8. On the Format menu, click Dynamic HTML Effects.
  9. Apply the effect you want, and then click Close in the upper-right corner of the DHTML Effects bar.
