PUB2000: Publisher Setup Disables the Office Assistant (218733)

When you install Publisher 2000 from the Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2
CD-ROM, the Office Assistant is disabled when you start another Office
program.
CAUSE
The status of the Office Assistant is shared by the following Office 2000
programs:
- Microsoft Access 2000
- Microsoft Excel 2000
- Microsoft FrontPage 2000
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
- Microsoft Publisher 2000
- Microsoft Word 2000
When you install Office 2000, Office Setup enables the Office Assistant.
When you install Publisher 2000 from the Microsoft Office Disc 2 CD-ROM,
Publisher Setup disables the Office Assistant.
When you start any Office 2000 program after you install Publisher 2000,
the Office Assistant is disabled and does not appear.
RESOLUTION
To enable the Office Assistant, click Show Office Assistant on the
Help menu in any Office 2000 program.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Publisher 2000.
