Unable to Connect with Long Phonebook Entry Name (217937)

After you configure the Internet Mail Service (IMS) to connect to an Internet Service Provider (ISP), to implement Dial-Up Networking functionality you must create a phone book entry to specify the connection parameters. When you try to connect to one of these phonebook entries, you may be unhable to do so, and you may receive the the following event ID in Event Viewer:
RAS EVENT ID: 20006
SYMBOL NAME : RASLOG_INVALID_PARAMETER_TYPE
MESSAGE TEXT: Parameter %1 has an invalid type
CAUSE
This problem can occur if your phonebook entry name is longer than 20 characters.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, shorten your phonebook entry name to less than 20 characters.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
