SYMPTOMS

When you are running the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) Wizard, you may receive the following error message:
You have entered an invalid 10-character customization code. Make sure that you have entered the key that was provided with your Internet Explorer Administration Kit license.

CAUSE

This message can occur if you enter an IEAK 4.x code in IEAK 5, or vice-versa.

RESOLUTION

To apply for an IEAK customization code, visit the following Microsoft Web site: You can change your personal information, accept or cancel your license, or order or decline the IEAK newsletter on this site.

If you are a new user and you sign an agreement, an IEAK 5 code is sent to you by default. To receive an IEAK 4.x code, return to the site listed above and click the Existing User link. You are prompted to provide some logon information (e-mail address and customization code).

After you enter your profile, click Get 4x Code, and then click Submit. An IEAK 4.x code is sent to the e-mail address specified in your profile.
