OFF2000: Searching for Help on the Web Starts Internet Explorer Even Though It Is Not Your Default Browser (217618)

SYMPTOMS

When you click None of the above, look for more help on the Web in a Microsoft Office Assistant balloon, a Help window is opened. When you click Send and go to the Web, Microsoft Internet Explorer is started even though it is not set as your default Web browser.

CAUSE

The Office 2000 help system utilizes a subset of Internet Explorer to display help topics. When you click Send and go to the Web, a separate Internet Explorer window is opened with a list of topics relevant to the question that you asked the Office Assistant.

MORE INFORMATION

Although Internet Explorer is started, your default Web browser does not change.
