SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) to create a customized version of Internet Explorer, you may receive the following error message:
An error has occurred: The Internet Explorer Administration Kit wizard was unable to generate a customized version of Internet Explorer. Either an error has occurred or user pressed Cancel.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if one or more of the .cab files that is used by IEAK to build a custom package is missing or corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, click to select the Automatic Version Synchronization (AVS) check box in the IEAK Wizard. Make sure that all of the components are marked in green. If any of the components are red, there is a missing or corrupted .cab file. Click any components that are red, and then click Synchronize. If you still cannot generate the package, delete the contents of the Program Files\IEAK\Download\En folder, and then click Synchronize All on the AVS screen in the IEAK Wizard.
