SYMPTOMS

You may experience any one of the following symptoms:
  • When you convert a file from Pocket Excel to Microsoft Excel 95 or Microsoft Excel 97, you receive one of the following error messages:

    • File format is not valid.
    • Error opening file.
  • When you convert a Pocket Excel 2.0 file into an Excel 97 file, cell references in formulas change if your formula fills more than 256 rows.
  • When you convert a file containing various number formats from Excel 97 to Pocket Excel 2.0 and back again without saving the file on the device, you receive the following error message:

    Excel caused an invaled page fault in module Excel.exe at 015f:30120a02

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next update that contains this hotfix.
