Renaming a Subscribed Favorite Does Not Update Subscription Name (217307)

When you attempt to subscribe to a favorite using Internet Explorer 4 or synchronize a favorite using Interenet Explorer 5, the favorite may be named differently than the one in the list of available favorites.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you rename favorite after subscribing to it or making it available for offline viewing.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, follow the steps in the appropriate section:
Internet Explorer 4- Load the Web site associated with the favorite you want to remove.
- Delete the favorite by clicking Organize Favorites on the Favorites menu, clicking the item you want to remove, clicking Delete, and then
clicking Close.
- On the Favorites menu, click Add to Favorites.
- After choosing the subscription option you want, type a new name for the favorite in the Name box, and then click OK.
Internet Explorer 5- On the Favorites menu, click Organize Favorites.
- Click the renamed favorite, click the Make available
offline check box to clear it, and then click Close.
- Repeat steps 1 - 2, clicking the Make available
offline check box to select it in step 2, and then click Close.

In Internet Explorer 4, when you rename a favorite to which you are currently subscribing in the Organize Favorites dialog box, the original name is retained in the Manage Subscriptions dialog box.
In Internet Explorer 5, when you rename a favorite to which you are currently subscribing in the Organize Favorites dialog box, the original name is retained in the Synchonize dialog box. If you rename the favorite by right-clicking it on the Favorites menu and then clicking Rename, the favorite is no longer available for offline viewing, and it does not appear in the Organize Favorites dialog box.
