When you attempt to subscribe to a large number of newsgroups, Outlook Express may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This problem can occur if you attempt to subscribe to 20,000 or more newsgroups at one time. When you do so, the message store sends a notificaion for each newsgroup to which you subscribe, which causes Outlook Express to hang.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, subscribe to fewer newsgroups at one time.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Outlook Express 5.
