  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

This article was previously published under Q216857

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the shared Clipboard feature with the Windows 2000 Terminal Server client, the Clipboard on the client computer and the client session may have different contents.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if either the client computer or the client session on the Terminal Server is attempting to paste from the Clipboard while the other is trying to copy data to the Clipboard.

RESOLUTION

This issue should occur only if a large quantity of information is being pasted, and the subsequent copy operation takes place very quickly after the paste operation has begun. To prevent this issue from occurring, wait for the paste operation to finish before copying new data to the Clipboard. The Clipboard contents will be synchronized in subsequent copy operations.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
