Properties Button Unavailable in Local Area Connection Properties Dialog Box (216429)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to configure Gateway or Client Services for NetWare (GSNW or CSNW) in the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, the Properties button may be unavailable.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box is used for configuring computer-specific properties. GSNW and CSNW configuration properties are user specific. As a result, the Properties button is unavailable for GSNW and CSNW.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, configure GSNW or CSNW using the appropriate Control Panel tool.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
