SUMMARY

If you accidentally delete or change a protected Windows 2000 system file, you may receive a "Stop 0xC00002D1" error message on a blue screen. When you restart the computer, the original file is replaced automatically and Windows should operate normally.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\ProtectedDlls
The original files used to replace any damaged, deleted, or changed protected file are located in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Dllcache folder.
