The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 for Windows NT 4.0
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 for Windows NT 4.0
This article was previously published under Q216270 SYMPTOMS When you upgrade to 128-bit encryption for Internet
Explorer on a Windows NT 4.0-based computer with Service Pack 4, the upgrade
may not provide 128-bit security. CAUSE This behavior occurs because the files that are installed
by the 128-bit security update are older than the Service Pack 4 security files
already on your computer. RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, install Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack
4, 128-Bit North American Version. This is available at the following Microsoft
