SYMPTOMS

When you install a program that installs Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and then restart your computer after Setup, the program may not detect that Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 is already installed, and you may be repeatedly prompted to install Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 again. Microsoft Money 99 and Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 are examples of programs that exhibit this behavior.
