BUG: Developer Studio Stops Responding (216099)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a project on a remote Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, whose source files are spread across 64 or more directories, Developer Studio stops responding.

RESOLUTION

Use one of the following two resolutions:
  • Place the source code on Windows NT Server 4.0.

    -or-

  • Reduce the number of source code directories to less than 64.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
