Administrative Tool Menu Is Sensitive to User's Permissions (214739)

When a user does not have sufficient permissions on a given object, that item on the Administrative Tools menu is hidden. To view the item, the user must be granted sufficient privileges on the object. To grant individual users the necessary permissions or rights, use the Delegation Control Wizard:

1. Start the administrative snap-in for the object in which you want to delegate control. For example, start the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.
2. Right-click the object, click Delegate Control, and then click Next.
3. Click Next if the displayed object is the one for which you want to delegate control.
4. Click Add, and then choose the appropriate users or groups from your directory or domains.
5. Click OK.
6. Click Next.
7. Choose one or more of the options listed in the Predefined Tasks list, or click Custom Task, and then click Next.
8. Click Finish when you are done.
