Registry Flag fUseDefaultGina Does Not Work (214488)

SYMPTOMS

If a third-party Gina.dll file is installed and the fUseDefaultGina value in the following registry key is set to 0x1, the third-party Gina.dll file is still used for the main console on the server:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\Console

This setting should force the Msgina.dll file to be used.

To use the default Gina for Terminal Server clients, use the following steps:

Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
Locate the fUseDefaultGina value under the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp
NOTE: The above registry key is one path; it has been wrapped for readability.
On the Edit menu, click REG_DWORD, type 0x1, and then click OK.
Quit Registry Editor.

RESOLUTION

Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition
