XL2000: Toolbar Buttons Created in Earlier Version May Lose Color (214353)

SYMPTOMS

When you display a toolbar that was created in an earlier version of Microsoft Excel, the colors of some toolbar buttons do not look the way they did in the earlier version of Excel.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, edit the toolbar button and restore the color. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Display the toolbar that has the button you want to change.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Customize.

    The Customize dialog box must remain open; however, you may need to move it out of your way.
  3. On the toolbar, right-click the button you want to edit, and then click Edit Button Image on the shortcut menu.
  4. Adjust the color of the button image.
  5. Click OK, and then click Close.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
