WD2000: The Go To Command Fails in a Protected Document (214194)

SYMPTOMS

When you protect a document for forms that does not contain form fields or unprotected sections, nothing happens when you attempt to go to any of the following:
  • Page
  • Section
  • Line
  • Bookmark

CAUSE

When you protect your document for forms, the document must contain at least one unprotected section or form field for the Go To feature to work. The Go To feature will not go to a protected section that does not contain at least one form field.

NOTE: To protect a document for forms, click Protect Document on the Tools menu, and then click to select Forms.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
